Neopentyl glycol is a kind of polyols. At the normal temperature, it is mutually dissolved with water, cold ethanol, cold aether and cold acetone, and also with hot acetate, hot benzene and hot toluene. Neopentyl glycol has a wide range of functions, among which the main role is to produce oil free alkyd resin, unsaturated polyester resin, flexible soft foam of polyurethane, insulated materials, print inks, synthetic plasticizers, aircraft lubricant agent and the like.
